10 phrases that make you sound professional in Spanish meetings

In a work meeting, “speaking Spanish” is not enough: you need the right register. These ten phrases are the difference between sounding translated and sounding professional.

Opening and structuring

1. «Si les parece, empezamos.» — polite and direct.
2. «Antes de entrar en materia…» — for setting context.
3. «Retomando el punto anterior…» — for picking up a thread.

Disagreeing without sounding harsh

4. «Yo lo veo de otra manera.» — soft disagreement.
5. «Entiendo tu punto, y aun así creo que…» — the diplomatic formula.
