About me
Hi, I’m Katherine
I’m from Colombia — a land full of colour, music and good energy. I’m an award-winning writer and journalist, and telling stories is my great passion. My dream as a teacher is that you don’t just learn Spanish — you fall in love with this beautiful language.
From telling stories to teaching them
Before teaching Spanish, I made a living writing it — as a journalist and as a writer. That experience changed how I teach: I know a language isn’t learned by memorising rules, but by living stories that stay with you.
As a university lecturer in the Prensa Escuela programme at the Universidad Autónoma del Caribe (Barranquilla), I taught students from schools across the region how to write for different media and formats. That’s where I learned to explain the language with structure and patience — and to adapt to each person.
Today I combine both: the structure of an academically trained teacher and the creativity of a storyteller. The result is classes with a plan — and with soul.
